Religion
Text: We Believe by Sadlier.
Text focuses on the Old Testament. Mass is celebrated as a whole school wide faith community on a weekly basis, and students attend mass in the chapel once a month as a class.
We also use the family life series, Family Life by Benziger.
The sixth grade class attends camp Caritas for a week in the spring. Caritas is a nature based camp where students encounter God through nature, learn how to accept others as children of God and learn how to protect and care for the environment.
Social Studies
In Social Studies classes, comprehension is stressed. Finding the main idea, taking notes, and analyzing data stretch across the curriculum to give the students better study skills in all areas of study. Projects will be assigned in addition to regular classroom homework. These projects range from internet searches to poster board projects, Powerpoint presentations, coding, oral presentations, research reports, and/or dioramas.
Literature

In addition, the student is also responsible for several book reports. Students will be given different parameters for each book report, and the teacher will approve each book before it is read. Books of questionable nature will be referred to the parent for approval.
