Get your running shoes on and join in on the fun with us!
All students from kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to join the team.
We will begin practicing on Monday, August 29.
Cross country is a fun way to build up confidence, endurance, and stamina that will help in every other sport.
It also builds mental strength and provides the athletes with a strong sense of accomplishment after finishing a race.
It is also a great way for students to make new friends and bond with kids from all other grades.
WHEN: Practices will be held Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland.
Just park at the intersection of Joaquin Miller and Sanborn, walk into the park, and come down the hill to the meadow area with picnic benches.
The season consists of meets covering five consecutive Fridays beginning on September 23 and ending on October 21.
Runners will need to be at the first four meets at 5:00; they will need to be at the final meet at 4:30.
Runners should arrive hydrated, wearing comfortable running shoes and attire, bring plenty of water.
Athletes will run a total of 2-3 miles per practice.
