The final cross country meet of the season was held this past Friday night at the Diocese
Championship Meet at beautiful Joaquin Miller Park in the Oakland Hills.
Our Tigers finished up yet another successful campaign. The top 30 runners in each heat are awarded medals and SLOT came away with five! The medal winners are:
- Tatiana Wilson (3rd overall in K-2 Girls)
- Morgan Schlenk (23rd overall in K-2 Girls)
- Tyrone Snipes (26th overall in K-2 Boys)
- Lamya Harrell (18th overall in 3rd-5th Grade Girls)
- Izel Machado (23rd overall in 6th-8th Grade Boys)
Please join me in congratulating them and the ENTIRE team for always giving us their finest effort and representing our school and community in such a positive manner!
I also need to thank ALL of the parents for their support throughout the season - they bring snacks and transport the kids to and from practices and meets. They are always more than willing to help out in practice. Quite simply, we cannot have a team without them. Special thank you to Sonia Vallejo for once again taking on the role of our Team Mom! Thank you to Barry Winfield for stepping in and helping out tremendously at both practices and meets and always encouraging our runners. And a huge thank you to Coach Anthony De Los Santos for both his excellent photography as well as his time and dedication to the team. This was really a fantastic team to coach; I've never seen a group improve from start to finish the way this one did. Our kids worked hard, competed, improved, triumphed - and most importantly had fun!
I want to see everyone back out there in cross country in 2015!
