Curriculum and Programs
St. Lawrence O'Toole educates students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. The school faculty provides a variety of learning activities addressing the various needs and learning styles of students.
We offer a strong foundation in reading, writing, science, social studies, technology, mathematics, critical thinking and grammar. In addition, we provide classes in physical education, vocal music, and band. Computers are an integral part of the curriculum for all student grades K-8. Students are taught in small groups allowing each child access to his/her own computer. Our middle school program focuses on preparing students for the high school experience. In addition to our already excellent curriculum, middle school students are offered Spanish. Pre-Algebra and Algebra I are offered to 8th Grade students.
All students at St. Lawrence O'Toole have daily studies in religion. The school community received a major commendation for building a strong Catholic identity throughout the school.
All our students benefit from free counseling, hearing and vision tests. We provide a special resources teacher and teacher aides to reduce the student/teacher ratios in grades K-5. Our quality Extended Care program provides parents with option for before and after school care for their students.
St. Lawrence O'Toole has a strong extra-curricular sports program offering students opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, track, and cross-country through the Catholic Youth Organization of the Diocese of Oakland.
Students are also offered opportunities to share their interests through Student Government, our Traffic Guard program and the School Band.
