SLOT Newsletter: April 22, 2009

Dear Families:

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter and a restful break. As we are approaching the end of the school year, I would ask that you continue to check your child(ren)'s homework and review corrected tests and paperwork that are sent home. School is not over and there is still a lot of curriculum to cover.

In their English classes, the middle school students composed sensory poems using descriptive words. After the poems were completed, the students created abstract watercolor drawings. Below are some of the students’ work for your enjoyment.

PASSION is crimson it sounds like your pulse drowning out all sound it tastes like a green caramel apple, sweet but sour it smells like the spicy aroma of exotic food Passion feels like a fire burning in my soul

CREATIVITY is aqua blue sounds like a painter's brain creating new ideas tastes like a ton of different colorful flavors creating inspiration smells like a fresh can of opened paint. Creativity feels like a cool pane of glass with a rough edge to it.

Today is "Secretary Appreciation Day" and it's time to recognize our secretary, Debbie Beltran who works very hard in the office to help make our school run efficiently. Ms. Debbie will be attending a workshop today but will return to school tomorrow. Don't forget to stop by and wish her the very best!

Plan to join our school community for Mass on Tuesday, April 28th at 11AM.

Sincerely,
Barbara McCullough
 Principal
